We’ve seen the recent WGME coverage about the campground closure and want to make sure our community has the full picture.
Our campground is licensed only for fair-related, agricultural camping—not year-round stays. The recent decision to have campers relocate came directly from state licensing requirements, not as a choice by the Board.
As soon as we were made aware of the compliance issue, we acted quickly to communicate with campers and process refunds for all current and future bookings.
We know this has been disruptive, and we truly regret the short notice. Please know that we are exploring whether obtaining the proper licensing for extended stays in the future is possible.
We understand there have been questions about the upcoming music festival. This event has been approved by the Town of Topsham and is eligible to apply for a temporary license. This approval is entirely separate from the Topsham Fair and is not connected to our campground licensing.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing support to the Topsham Fair. Our goal is to always serve the community while staying in compliance with State Regulations.
